So, I’ve been kinda digging into this, based on stuff I’ve seen about fake Juicy bags and tracksuits – because, let’s be real, if they’re faking the bags, they’re *definitely* faking the watches.
First off, hardware. This is a *biggie*. Think about it. Juicy Couture wasn’t exactly known for being, like, *super* subtle. Their stuff was blingy! So, the metal on the watch – the clasp, the bezel, any little charms – it *should* feel substantial. If it feels flimsy and cheap, like it’s gonna break if you breathe on it too hard… yeah, red flag. I saw something about bags where the hardware should be good.
And speaking of charms… Oh my god, the charms. Right? Aren’t those like, the whole *point* of a Juicy watch? If they look wonky, like the proportions are off, or the enamel is chipped or badly applied, that’s a sign. I mean, they weren’t exactly known for *perfect* craftsmanship (it was Juicy, not Rolex, ya know?), but blatant sloppiness? Definite fake.
Also, the *feel* of the band. Is it genuine leather (if it’s supposed to be)? Does it smell like plastic? Does it feel like cardboard? A real Juicy watch (well, real-ish) should at least feel decent against your skin. I bet it is similar to the bags.
Then there’s the price. I’m not saying you *can’t* find a legit Juicy watch for a steal at a thrift store, but if it’s brand new and being sold for, like, $20 online… Come on. Use your brain. It is not worth it.
And, okay, this might seem obvious, but look at the logo! Is it spelled right? Is it crisp and clear? Or is it blurry and wonky? I mean, people make mistakes, but if the brand name is misspelled, it’s a dead giveaway.
Finally, and this is just me, but I’d be wary of anything that’s *too* pristine. A lot of Juicy stuff you find now is vintage or pre-owned. So if it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line (and is being sold for a fraction of the price), be suspicious. Like that tracksuit that girl found.
