I’m not the only one noticing this, apparently. It’s all over the place now – people are freaking out about these accounts with like, hundreds of thousands of followers (that probably bought them, let’s be real) suddenly popping up in their Story views. You see someone you don’t know has watched your Story. You click on their profile and notice they are also talking about running. You notice they have 200k followers, and think ‘ Wow – and they viewed MY Story!’. Like, it’s easy to get a little ego boost at first, right? But then you look closer… and it’s all just *off*.
For me, it started with this one account, MSA previously My Story Animated. I started noticing this specific account watching all of my Instagram stories almost 90% of the time without a miss. The account doesn’t follow me and has a random short username along with 0 . Like, who even *does* that? No posts, no followers, just… lurking. It made me wonder if it was some ex-boyfriend being weird, you know? The fake account I believed my ex was stalking me with Almost all the stranger accounts viewing my most recent story are American.
Turns out, it’s probably not my ex, although that’s *definitely* still a possibility in the back of my head (you just never know, do you?). Apparently, there’s this whole thing going on with these “secret Instagram tools,” like this one YouTuber talked about called “Mass Looking” In a video made in July, one YouTuber reviews a “secret Instagram tool” called Mass Looking. Basically, these tools let people, or companies, or whoever, pay to have their accounts automatically view tons of stories.
Someone repeatedly viewing my story without following me? I recently noticed that a fake account that doesn’t follow me has been watching every Instagram story that I post. I suspected the account was her, so I used the “Forgot Password” feature to . Like, I’m still a bit paranoid that it *is* someone I know, but it’s also pretty likely these accounts are using these tools to get their names out there, trying to get people to follow them. It’s like, a super annoying form of spam, tbh.
