So, here’s the deal. I’ve seen a bunch of people complaining, and not just a little “meh” kinda complaining, but full-blown, “OMG, I GOT RIPPED OFF!” complaining. One person even had their supposed Seiko SKX013 seized by US Customs! Ouch. Talk about a bad day. And Creation Watches allegedly wouldn’t give them a refund. That just sounds super shady, doesn’t it? Like, come on, guys.
Then you got these “How to Spot a Fake Seiko” guides popping up all over the place. They’re saying things like, check the serial numbers, look for imperfections, Google the reference number, all that jazz. Which, fine, good advice, I guess. But it’s kinda scary that you even HAVE to do that, you know? You should be able to trust the seller, right?
But then… *BUT THEN*, you see other people saying, “Nah, they’re legit. Gray market, sure, but legit.” They compare them to Jomashop, which is another grey market dealer, and say they have a physical store somewhere. So, like, which is it? Are they peddling straight-up fakes, or just selling authentic Seikos without the official warranty, the way grey market dealers do?
I even saw one person say they got a Seiko with “obvious manufacturing defects” and Creation Watches wouldn’t even reply to their messages! That’s just bad customer service, fake watch or not, right?
Personally, I’m leaning towards “proceed with caution.” Maybe they *do* sell some legit stuff. Maybe sometimes things slip through the cracks. Maybe their quality control is just REALLY bad. I dunno. But I definitely wouldn’t be dropping a ton of cash on a super expensive Seiko from them without doing a LOT of research first. And, you know, maybe saying a little prayer to the watch gods.
The whole thing just feels a bit… dodgy. It’s one of those situations where, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And honestly, is saving a few bucks worth the risk of getting stuck with a fake Seiko? I’m not so sure. I’d rather pay a little more and know I’m getting the real deal. Just my two cents, tho. Your mileage may vary.
