Listen, I’ve been down that rabbit hole. You get sucked in by the sales, the “buy three get two free” dealio, and suddenly you’re knee-deep in pumpkin spice everything. Trust me, I get it. But there’s a whole world of alternatives out there, some cheaper, some more “natural,” and some just plain different.
I think the main problem with Bath & Body Works is that a lot of people are saying that the products are not good for your skin, and it is definitely a very real issue.
There’s this whole movement towards “clean beauty” these days, and tbh, I’m kinda on board. Less weird chemicals, more stuff that won’t make your skin freak out. Brands that focus on natural ingredients are a pretty solid alternative. I’m not gonna name names (do your own research, people!), but a quick Google search for “natural body care” will throw up a bunch. Some of them are pricey, I will admit, but you’re paying for higher quality ingredients, supposedly.
Then there’s the option of going the cheap route, which, let’s face it, is appealing. I’m not saying you gotta slum it, but there are def affordable options out there. Drugstore brands have stepped up their game big time. You can find some decent lotions and body washes without emptying your bank account. Don’t sleep on the generic brands either! Sometimes they’re surprisingly good.
Honestly, sometimes I think the best alternative is to just…make your own stuff. I know, sounds kinda hippie-dippie, but it’s actually pretty easy! A little coconut oil, some essential oils, and boom! You got yourself a moisturizer. Plus, you know *exactly* what’s going on your skin. And if you don’t like the smell? Change it! Easy peasy.
But the truth is, it all comes down to personal preference, right? What one person loves, another might hate. Maybe you’re a die-hard Bath & Body Works fan, and that’s totally cool. But if you’re feeling a little adventurous, or just tired of the same old scents, there’s a whole world of body care waiting to be explored.
