So, what’s a girl (or guy!) to do when your beloved Stella is, like, extinct? Well, first off, don’t pay those crazy prices on eBay. Seriously, some people are charging an arm and a leg! Enter the world of “dupes” and “copycats.” Now, I gotta be honest, sometimes these are a total bust. You end up with something that smells vaguely like floor cleaner and roses. Not the vibe.
But, BUT! There’s hope. I’ve been seeing Superdrug’s Layering Lab mentioned, and they’re all about the dupe game. I’ve not specifically tried a Stella dupe from them, but I know they’ve got body mists, perfumes, lotions, the whole shebang. Might be worth a sniff, even if it’s just to layer up and get *somewhat* close.
Then there are the dedicated dupe companies. The ones that proudly proclaim, “Hey, we’re ripping off… I mean, *duplicating* Stella!” I saw one saying their Stella dupe is “a Floral fragrance for women. This bright and bold composition creates a young, fresh perfume. Beautiful and unapologetically feminine.” Sounds promising, right? And another one even comes in a roll-on, which is kinda cute and convenient. I like that they mention sustainable packaging and being vegan & cruelty-free, that’s a nice touch.
Honestly, I don’t know if any of these will *exactly* capture the magic of the original. It’s like trying to recreate your grandma’s secret recipe – you can get close, but there’s always something missing. But hey, it’s worth a shot, right? I mean, you’re basically chasing a phantom fragrance from your past, and who knows, maybe you’ll find something new you actually *like* even more. (Gasp! Blasphemy!)
I also saw someone mention “Stella in Two Peony”. I haven’t tried that one, but it seems like the general idea is to try and find something with similar notes – floral, a bit woody. Experiment! Maybe you’ll stumble upon a hidden gem.
