So, I figured, let’s talk about some of these… *ahem*… “alternative truth” peddlers, shall we? I mean, there are lists floating around, like, everywhere. Wikipedia has one, some professor Zimdars (whoever *that* is, lol) has one… it’s a whole thing. But seriously, you gotta be vigilant!

Now, I’m not gonna name names exactly, because, you know, I don’t want to get sued or anything. But let’s just say, if a site’s name sounds vaguely like a legit news source but is, like, *just* off enough to make you raise an eyebrow… yeah, maybe give that one a second look. You know what I mean?

And it’s not always just about made-up stuff. Sometimes they recycle old photos, doctor them up to look like they’re from somewhere else entirely. I saw one the other day that was supposedly from, like, Ukraine, but I swear I saw that same photo on a different site a year ago talking about… I don’t even remember. Some completely unrelated topic. Ugh, so annoying!

The thing that *really* gets my goat is when they try to pass off satire as real news. Like, The Onion is hilarious, right? But imagine someone thinking that’s actually happening! It’s almost like a test of common sense, but apparently, common sense is becoming less and less common these days, which is, frankly, kinda depressing.

I think what people don’t realize is how much of this stuff is designed to, like, mess with you. To get you riled up. To make you click on ads. It’s all about the clicks, baby! And the more outrageous the story, the more clicks they get. Ugh, capitalism.
